Spotio Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 2, 2026

Spotio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Spotio mobile application (the “App”), a platform that helps users discover nearby street food vendors and allows vendors to list and manage their food carts. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

  • Profile photo (optional)

b) Information you provide as a Vendor

  • Owner name and business name
  • Mobile number and alternate contact number
  • Email address
  • Business address, city, state, and pincode
  • FSSAI number and GST number, where provided (optional, not required to list a cart)
  • Cart details — name, description, cuisine types, photos, menu, pricing, and timings

c) Location information

  • Your approximate device location, used to show nearby carts and calculate distance
  • A vendor's cart location, used to display the cart on the map and in nearby search results

d) Information collected automatically

e) Bulk order requests

When you submit a bulk order enquiry to a vendor, we collect your name, phone number, headcount, budget range, cuisine preference, event date, and location, and share these details with the relevant vendor so they can respond to your request. Spotio does not process any payment for bulk orders — this is a lead-based enquiry system only.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To show you nearby carts, dishes, and search results
  • To let vendors manage their cart listings, menus, and availability
  • To connect customers and vendors for bulk order enquiries
  • To send you notifications relevant to your account or requests
  • To review and approve vendor listings before they go live
  • To maintain the security and proper functioning of the App

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With vendors: when you submit a bulk order enquiry or interact with a cart, relevant details are shared with that vendor so they can respond to you.
  • With service providers: we use Google Firebase (authentication, database, and notifications) and the Google Maps Platform (maps, places, and geocoding) to operate core features of the App. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the Mumbai (asia-south1) region. Sign-in is handled through OTP-based phone authentication; we do not store or have access to your OTP. While we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights and Choices

  • You can view and update your profile information within the App at any time
  • You can disable push notifications from your device settings
  • You can delete individual favorites or entire favorite lists
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us using the details in Section 9

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the App's features. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

7. Children's Privacy

Spotio is intended for general audiences and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children without appropriate parental consent.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database, Cloud Messaging)
  • Google Maps Platform (Maps, Places, Geocoding)

9. Grievance and Contact

If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal information, you can reach us at:

10. Changes to This Policy

Whenever we make a change, we will notify you through the App or by updating the “Effective Date” above, so you always know when something has changed. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Governing Law
